I know I just said transportation books were upstairs in the pearl room -- that's where they were when I was a kid, but at some point they were moved downstairs to the red room. This three-story section is the newest part of the building, and is a really nice space with large windows and plenty of places to sit and browse books -- I wonder how much that latter part will change when Powell's eventually reopens.
