The first aisle featured a very nice (and relatively new) bulk foods display, similar to what many QFCs are getting these days but better integrated into the produce department. Sadly, this was another casualty of COVID fears and sat completely empty at the time of my visit.
Kroger stores around here have placed all sorts of cardboard displays (like those for potato chips) in front of the empty bulk foods departments.
ReplyDeleteI've seen Safeway often putting displays of packaged food in front of the closed self-service departments, but apparently QFC didn't feel like doing that here! 🙂 (And kind of ironic that they'd put chip displays in front of the "healthy" bulk foods section!)
DeleteHa, ironic indeed! I'm not even sure the bulk foods departments will be coming back after this, to be honest...
DeleteSame here, especially since they're a newer thing that never seemed all that popular... I really hope that self-service things in other departments will come back, though, especially in the bakery.
