Scan, Bag, Go

This store must have been one of the last to get the Scan, Bag, Go system, which has since been removed from most of the stores that got it. The system sounds cool in theory -- it's basically just a handheld scanner that you use while you shop -- but I tried to use it at the U District QFC a few weeks back and found it rather clunky and difficult to use, and since you have to go to self checkout to pay, I really don't see any benefits from using this rather than just using the self checkout as normal. So it's not surprising that people almost never seem to use this thing! If it was set up with some sort of built-in payment system, it would be pretty convenient, but in this implementation it's more trouble than it's worth.
