Then again, from this angle, it doesn't feel nearly so spacious! Safeway clearly decided to take full advantage of the extra space here, placing lots of extra displays by the checkouts (makes me think of Walmart more than a normal grocery store...). This store was also full of balloons when I visited, which used to be a Safeway staple but seems to have gotten much more rare in the last few years (perhaps as a result of the helium shortage).
