This store also got its first major bit of new decor in the last week, as all the aisle markers were swapped for the Modern Decor versions. These take the same form-over-function approach as the frozen strips, with the same light font (which also looks rather small). Sadly, they didn't include the local neighborhood/street name part of the aisle markers in this store either -- hopefully Safeway hasn't dropped that feature permanently, but I haven't seen it in recent remodels for a while. One positive note is that they kept the aisle numbering the same, and don't seem to be planning on a major reset at this time (I imagine they wouldn't have put up the category plaques yet if they were), so hopefully I won't have to adjust to a new layout again!
