Unsurprisingly, the interior signage proliferated even more in the few weeks between my visits. Most notably, the ubiquitous countdown signage had appeared, though in a rather less polished form than I'm used to (just three sheets of yellow printer paper taped together); if the signs were correct, the store closed for good a week after my visit. I'd love to say that I planned it that way, but it's more likely than not that it was just coincidence. Also of interest, according to the papers taped to the "Fantastic Savings" freestanding sign (half hidden behind the one person in the area, of course...), the customer service desk had already closed permanently, with all its normal services simply shut down due to the closing sale.
