Front end

Other than some minor cosmetic updates, it doesn't look like much has changed in the front end here since the Rite Aid takeover, if not longer. This store still has the old grocery store-style checkouts (rather than the single long counter that drugstores tend to use these days), complete with register lights. It doesn't even look like Rite Aid bothered to replace the laminate during the Green Decor remodel. The large wall of windows certainly lends this place somewhat of a retro feel, especially with the old-fashioned translucent plastic blinds (which prevent them from letting in as much natural light as I would have liked). It looks like more of the grey wall tile remains to the right of the windows as well.

If any of you are thinking that the people-free style of these pictures is intentional, sadly, you would be wrong. I was here at about 5:30 on a Sunday evening, which admittedly does seem like a somewhat low time (though the other stores in the mall were reasonably busy, even the closing Safeway), and there was maybe one or two customers in here. It was so empty that none of the registers seemed to be open -- I'm sure must have been an employee around somewhere, but I guess Rite Aid didn't feel the need for a permanent cashier here. If this was representative of how this store normally operates, I have to wonder how much longer this place will last...
