The cold side

As you can see in this picture, the blue paint ends partway down the side wall. Specifically, it ends where the dairy cases on the wall change to frozen foods (which, confusingly enough, is beyond the frozen foods department sign). No clue why they felt the need to do that, but whatever...

Another change from that 2012 picture I linked is the addition of retrofit doors to the dairy cases. I'm not sure why more stores don't do this -- in addition to saving energy, it makes for a much more pleasant shopping experience, especially in the winter, when having cold air constantly blowing on you doesn't feel great. Yet another retail thing I'll never understand, I guess 🙂
