Down the back again

This picture should help show how prominent the butcher block is here. It's especially dramatic compared to the last few stores we've seen, where the meat department was just a little hole in the wall, despite being in the same place in the store. Albertsons put a large emphasis on their meat service departments back in the day, and this store really emphasizes that with this decor. In fact, the butcher block was one of the only reasons my family shopped at Albertsons at all when I was growing up, since meat was (and still is, to an extent) the one place that Safeway really fell short.
