On the right side of the facade is the integrated strip mall area, home to the sort of generic businesses you'd expect in a suburban strip mall. It's a good thing the store is so colorful, since with Fred Meyer's current greyscale color scheme, this would be a very grey scene thanks to the wintertime trees and colorless parking lot! I was never a fan of the beige/brown era of the 00s and early 2010s, but at least it was marginally better than the current greyscale era.

One of the local Krogers is in a shopping center and had a chain hair salon next to it called Cost Cutters. Now, maybe the connection between the Cost Cutters name and Kroger wouldn't make sense to someone your age, but back in the 1980s at least, Kroger's slogan was 'Cost Cutters' and they had a big scissors logo which they had to go with that slogan. Thus, seeing a salon named Cost Cutters next to a Kroger was quite bizarre! Unfortunately, in the last year or so, the Cost Cutters moved to another shopping center...an HEB one at that I think! Oh well.
