This visit came a week or two before thanksgiving, but even in the 2010s there was plenty of overlap between thanksgiving and christmas stuff at Safeway. Heck, there's overlap between halloween and christmas at a lot of stores, so I shouldn't be surprised to see this. I remember when it was a big deal that stores were starting to have christmas stuff well before December, but that was long before 2018.
