The proper escalator barricades were gone by this point (either sold or taken back by the escalator vendor, I suppose), with a large store closing poster having been pressed into service instead. On the left, part of the jewelry counter was being used as a checkout for appliances, mattresses, and fixtures, and had developed quite a long line! What a strange sight for this store.
