13 and a half

Looking back towards the dairy wall, we can also see the aisle markers stretching along the back actionway. 14 aisles is impressive for such an old store, though I've noticed that older Safeways often have more (numbered) aisles than larger, newer ones for some reason (I guess without as many service departments, more of the salesfloor width is dedicated to aisles). Aisle 14 wouldn't be counted as an aisle in most Safeways, but here it gets another half aisle marker.

Also, this shows that west coast stores have been using left to right aisle numbers for decades, instead of having aisle 1 next to the produce department as is apparently common in other regions!
