I'm not sure when the "this isn't goodbye" stickers disappeared from the front doors (it may have been way back when they had to replace some of them, leading to the mismatched look that stuck around until the end), but I guess someone decided that reminding their customers of Sears' decline every time they left the store wasn't the best idea! Instead, they just had bunches of signs directing people to Sears' website, without mentioning that it had turned into a marketplace selling low-end non-Sears stuff long before.
