So we just looked at the third Safeway at this intersection, and years ago we looked at the first Safeway at this intersection -- now it's time for a short diversion to the one that filled in between those, now home to Trader Joe's! Unfortunately, the exterior was completely blandified in the conversion;
the original design was somewhat more interesting and definitely unusual for Safeway.
