Heading for the exit, here's one last look towards the produce department, with some original promotional signage in front of it. And in front of that is an absolutely insane amount of bottled water, the sort of thing that I would only expect to see when people are stocking up for a natural disaster, all sitting on a random patch of woodgrain flooring. I have no idea what that could have been for, and it looks incredibly out of place in this store! And all the possibilities I can think of (Starbucks? Natural foods?) would be just as out of place.

Some months ago, I came across photos of a Safeway in Northern California which temporarily lost their liquor sales license (they probably sold alcohol to a minor) and so all the alcohol was cleared out and replaced with packages of bottled water. I doubt that's what has happened here, but certainly it isn't the first time I've seen photos of an excessive amount of bottled water at a California Safeway (or kind of Safeway in this case, lol).
ReplyDeleteOn a semi-related note, if you want to buy some Colorful Lifestyle v2 decor from a closing Vons in an old Albertsons, here you go! The same place also has an Albertsons auction in CA with some turntable checkstands!
