The restrooms are also back here, at the end of a short corridor lined with local flair photos. A pair of photos show this store's old location, over in the James Village center next to Half Price Books! (That space has since been subdivided between a bank, a dentist, and a Korean restaurant.) The picture of the 80s neon road sign must have been taken in the narrow window between Safeway moving out of this space and Trader Joe's moving in!

That's pretty neat! The only other retailer I can think of which offers any kind of chronicle of a store's prior history is Market Basket in the Northeast. Granted, here in Houston, the Trader Joe's locations are new enough that none of them have relocated and I doubt any of them will anytime soon.
