Just like most grocery stores, the entrance takes you right into the produce section -- though like most Italian grocery stores, the produce section is rather small! Unlike in the US, Italy (and I think most of Europe) still has lots of dedicated stores for things like produce, meat, seafood, and especially baked goods, so those items are a lot less prevalent in general-purpose grocery stores. (This is true for urban areas, including small towns, but suburban areas definitely do have large grocery stores with everything in one place, like we're used to in the US.)
