Peeking in

On my first visit, I couldn't stop into Hudson's Bay because it was closed; this time I didn't bother to since it just isn't particularly interesting. Most of their stores were seemingly updated sometime in the 2010s, but since they were already running out of money, those were some very cheap remodels, quite reminiscent of JCPenney down here. That puts Hudson's Bay on the list of dead chains that I easily could have visited, but actively chose not to. (I think Amazon Go/Fresh is the only other one on that list.) On the plus side, the only part of a department store I actually like -- kitchenware --  is on full display through the upper-story mall entrance. Other than the store-brand Fiestaware on the right, nothing here looks particularly nice.
