This store also has a full service bakery... and looking at this picture makes me want to head back to Italy right now! Esselunga has the best bakery by far of any major chain grocery store I've ever tried, American or European -- and as you can see from the cake case on the right, everything is super cheap compared to American grocery store bakeries! I really like the new decor in these service departments too, with the halo-lit signs creating an interesting effect on the 3D wood paneling. I wonder if Esselunga will keep this decor around for decades like they did with their last one -- it will probably look dated in a few years, but that didn't stop them last time!
