Surprisingly, the oven (which normally seems to just be decorative) was actually up and running when I was here! Too bad it was mostly blocked by that rack of baking trays. In the Lifestyle era, Safeway kept employees in the bakery most of the time and it was common to see the ovens turned on and in use, but these days that's a pretty rare sight; I'm guessing most of the baking work that was formerly done in-store has since been outsourced.
