This is a rather cluttered and poorly composed picture, but I still love how this store's bakery looks. It's too bad that Safeway built so few stores around here in the Lifestyle v2 era, since features like this were hardly ever retrofitted into existing stores. Several Lifestyle-era signs were left in place during the remodel, including one saying that the bakery employees will slice bread on request -- I don't remember seeing that at any other Safeway, and of course their typical staffing levels these days would make it impractical! I miss the days when stores like Fred Meyer would often have self-service bread slicing machines.
