Fred Meyer has long used road signs that are a bit classier than you'd see at most stores -- or maybe I'm just a sucker for the style of sign with individual illuminated letters instead of one big illuminated cabinet! I also like it when signs are built into a sort of wall like this instead of standing alone. I don't think Fred Meyer uses these fancy signs any longer -- but they've only built one new store in recent decades (and even that was a relocation), so that doesn't really matter.
