Playville

One of the most obvious changes in the mini-remodel was the relocation of the toy department to take up part of the electronics store. Most of the time, Fred Meyer will move books and magazines into this section (which I suppose makes sense since music and movies were always in the electronics area, so they're putting all types of media together), but this store had a dedicated setup for that, so instead toys got moved. (Which I suppose also makes sense since it seems like electronic devices have largely taken the role of toys for today's kids! I'm always shocked at how many young kids these days already have smartphones.) Amazingly, the original Playville sign was moved over here, hanging alongside the original electronics decor. But it seems toys sold fast during the closing sale, since there were hardly any left over here, apart from $500 kids' cars (that's a lot more expensive than I ever would have guessed those things would be!).
