Generally, Fred Meyers that have the alcove behind the garden center use it for the indoor part of the garden department, but for some reason this store has that up front instead. And it seems that it's always been this way, based on the original wall signage and the old floor plans I have. Strangely, this part of the store got real tile -- seems like an odd choice for the department, and the floor plans show the same normal vinyl flooring that most of the store has.
