The jewelry counter was the polar opposite of what we just saw at Sears -- plenty of stock, multiple employees, and wall-to-wall customers in places. There are probably more customers in this one picture than there were in the entire Sears store! I can't claim to know much about jewelry (I probably know even less about it than I know about liquor, normally the department I have nothing to say about), but I have to imagine this store was making crazy amounts of money selling such expensive stuff to all these people. (Meanwhile, Sears was just selling discount-rack clothing and the occasional appliance.)
