Most of the mall frontage features a very heavy awning protecting the sidewalk from the weather (which I suppose mostly means the sun and heat here, rather than the rain like I'm used to!). Originally this had a very bland design, but the 2010s remodel added Spanish-style details much like on the inside, which actually look pretty decent here. The canopy here makes me suspect there were once store entrances along the sidewalk, perhaps removed when the enclosed corridor was added on the other side of the original building.
