Looking back

It looks like this mall once would have had really nice landscaping along its parking lot wall, but it's a bit unkempt these days. The fancy door on the side of the Walmart building, behind the security car, is the LAPD Panorama Mall police station -- an in-mall police station is a sure sign of a mall that's in a not-so-great area! Apparently, at some point, this mall even had its own dedicated police car.
