Over by the former fitting rooms was the mattress closeout section, full of floor sample mattresses in boxes and bags -- not something you'd expect to see out on the salesfloor (and how did floor sample units end up back in sealed packaging anyway?), but I guess they had to fill the space with something. I'm pretty sure the vertical mattresses in the background were actually sticking into the fitting room space, since the fixture doesn't look nearly deep enough to display them on its own! I wonder what the mattress in the box on the bottom was, since over $4000 seems like a crazy price to charge for something on closeout! I think I'll stick with my $200 Ikea mattress.
