From a distance

 

This is the view from the actual street, with that fenced-in area visible in the middle distance. A zoom lens would definitely come in handy for this sort of thing, but even if I had a proper camera, I feel like it would attract unwanted attention in a place like this! Off to the right is another abandoned building fenced into the same compound, which appears to have once been a restaurant of some sort (but it was already long abandoned by the time Street View first drove through here in 2007, so it's been abandoned nearly as long as the store!).
