Looking empty already

Even from outside the store, it's clear that things weren't going great here. In the years leading up to their purchase of Bartell, Rite Aid had been struggling, leading to their stores often going empty; pretty much immediately upon the buyout, people started complaining about the same thing happening at Bartell stores, which were long known for better selection and stock levels than the bigger chains. Rite Aid managed to trash Bartell's reputation pretty much overnight, and I still have absolutely no clue why that deal ever happened (or how Rite Aid was able to afford it even in the short term).
