West end

Looking out the windows at the end of the main corridor, it's clear just how dense of a neighborhood this is, with residential towers on every corner. Vancouver (like most cities in Canada) is a funny place, with pockets of extreme density scattered around an area that otherwise has fairly low density, with very little in between. (In contrast, Seattle is pretty much all the "in between".) I suspect this mall would have been a much more successful place if it had been designed to focus on essentials for the very large number of residents, rather than trying to draw people from further afield with luxury shops. That being said, if it had been designed for practical shopping, it probably wouldn't look this cool!
