Even the deli was still operating at this point -- I'm not sure why I didn't get a better picture of it (maybe that's where all the employees were hanging out). Some sale tags were also still in place -- the melons in the middle of the picture were supposed to be buy one get one free, but were instead just a measly 5% off due to the closing sale, in one of the most obvious examples of the store closing actually raising prices compared to other Safeways. (Some of the signage implies the discounts are supposed to be taken off the sale price, but that hasn't been my experience when buying stuff from closing Safeways in the past.)
