Home of the famous Chickenjoy

While Seafood City may be in an anchor space, the true anchor of the Filipino wing is Jollibee, the incredibly popular fast food chain. This was the first one to open in the Seattle area, and as such it was insanely busy for years, though I think it has calmed down somewhat since two others have opened in recent years (both at places I've covered: One outside of the Columbia City MaxSafeway, and the other at the Tacoma Mall). I really do need to try their famous Chickenjoy at some point, but I'm not much of a fast food person -- especially when it's a place where you have to wait in line to even get in the store, like this used to be!

Houston has three Jollibee locations, and many Asian chicken places of various ethnicities, but I can't say I've been to any of them. The Jollibee nearest to me only has a 3.9 user review which isn't exactly promising. By comparison, another oddity for the area which is also located by that Jollibee, Wienerschnitzel, has a 4.6! Granted, I'm not exactly desiring a fast food hot dog anymore than I'm desiring fast food Asian chicken, lol, but I'd probably pick Wienerschnitzel if I had to pick one! The Wienerschnitzel also used to be a Twistee Treat, so there is that oddity as well.

    1. The Jollibees around here have similar ratings, which is surprising considering how popular they are. I've never eaten there, but I know some people who really like it -- I'd be interested in checking it out, but I have no idea if I'd actually like it!
