Cheese Shop

Another interesting feature of this store is the big "cheese shop" island, with its unique hanging sign box. Well, almost unique -- some of you may remember the Admiral Safeway's floral island, which is pretty much the exact same thing except smaller (and using the standard Modern woodgrain). It's too bad I wrote that post just before visiting this store! The cheese shop isn't anywhere near as elaborate as Kroger's Murray's departments, being basically just a self-service setup with the same sorts of stuff as a standard Safeway, just a much larger quantity of it -- the same thing has happened to the higher-end Lifestyle stores around here that once had dedicated cheese sections, but it looks a bit strange here with the special decor.
