31 flavors

Southcenter has one of the few remaining Baskin-Robbins locations in the Seattle area, and the only mall-based one I'm aware of. (They're down to just one store in Seattle proper and maybe a couple dozen in the suburbs, with quite a few of the remaining locations being rather sketchy.) I really miss Baskin-Robbins, which I have fond memories of growing up (the Port Angeles store closed a few years ago, after going for several years with several broken freezers -- you weren't getting 31 flavors there!), but I haven't ever stopped in at this location despite it still being in operation (with the new retro branding, even!).

  1. Wait, Baskin-Robbins went back to this logo? Huh, who knew? I would have guessed this was just an outdated store! Of course, maybe it is, who knows, lol.

I don't know if we have any mall Baskin-Robbins here as Marble Slab has been the mall ice cream place of choice around here for decades, but Baskin-Robbins does have a number of locations in Houston still. Some are combined with Dunkin' Donuts, but most are just Baskin-Robbins. There is one across the street from my local mall.

I know some Baskin-Robbins locations in Houston have been around for 50+ years. This is one of them, though it might not look that old outside of the condition of the parking lot. The area it is in is quite rough now (saying it is quite rough might be an understatement!), but it wouldn't have been so bad when it was new. Given that, it is surprising it has hung around! If you asked me what I thought the latest Baskin-Robbins logo is, I would have guessed it was what was on this building: https://maps.app.goo.gl/WFjpMnGTHpxvvK7j6

But, anyway, given my confusion over Baskin-Robbins' logo, you can probably guess that it is been a few decades since I last went to one even though they are common around here. I could say it has been 31 years since my last visit to a Baskin-Robbins and that would probably be pretty close to being correct. Well, my lack of patronage aside, I suppose ice cream does better in Houston than in Seattle! You better eat it inside if it is the summer though, but I guess that wouldn't be a problem if the Baskin-Robbins is in an indoor mall!

    1. No, this is the old logo, but it has been updated since this picture -- possibly the only one around to have been updated. A lot of them still have even older signage than this!

We don't have Dunkin Donuts around here, which is probably part of why Baskin-Robbins is on its way out -- it seems like the company that owns them really likes combo locations these days.
