The dead corner

I already mentioned this yesterday, but the whole front right corner of the store was completely blocked off and disused at the time of my visit. I'm not sure what PriceSmart/Save-On had previously used this area for, but the shelving reminds me of Fred Meyer's housewares fixtures, so that would be my guess. (The whole brand reuse thing makes it hard to find information about the pre-2010s PriceSmart!) This area was still home to a significant general merchandise section (primarily summer seasonal items), which the new store doesn't have at all.

  1. The items off to the right look like things more fitting for a Daiso (or Miniso) than a supermarket. Then again, given some of the demographics of BC, maybe it isn't that much of a strange novelty after all. It would certainly be a bit strange at a mainstream supermarket around here though!

    1. Yeah, in the Vancouver area, pretty much every store has a significant focus on Asian products compared to what I'm used to around here!
