Barely covering the black hole

Anonymous in Houston already pointed this out, but the stores in the center court are a bit odd. It looks like they were built out into the high-ceiling court area itself at some point, and instead of building the wall all the way to the ceiling, whoever did that (not sure if it was Westfield or a prior owner) just left an ugly black hole above the storefronts. Then at some point, they added a cheap bulkhead to cover most of that space, which looks fine from ground level, but not so much from the second floor. It's not the worst thing in the world (it's certainly better than just leaving an open hole above the storefronts), but it looks pretty tacky in what's otherwise a well-designed mall.
