Stepping under the bakery soffit, here's a view back through produce to the front of the store, showing just how small this store is in this dimension. It seems like every vintage Safeway I visit has that same vintage produce case somewhere! I guess that just shows how uncommon it is for Safeway to update refrigerated cases. I have no idea why the track lighting changes partway through the department -- I assume the whole thing would have had X-lights hanging below the tracks during the Lifestyle era, but I'm not sure.
