I had to get a picture of the very old-fashioned warning signs at the start of this escalator. It's quite funny that someone bothered to scratch out "please" on the top sign! I wonder what sort of "wheeled vehicles" the Bon Marche was worried about people taking on the escalator -- I don't think they ever had shopping carts (the only traditional department store I've ever seen have carts was Sears), and I'm pretty sure they weren't concerned about bicycles the way Sound Transit is! 😉 Strollers are the only thing I can think of, since I'm pretty sure people aren't dumb enough to take wheelchairs on the escalator.
