The watch cases look like they haven't been updated since a time when watches were actually popular! I must be one of the only people left who still wears a watch to keep track of time and not just as jewelry (and I'm pretty sure a $30 digital watch from Target -- back when they still sold watches -- doesn't count as jewelry). I just feel like having a watch is much more convenient than having to pull my phone out of my pocket to see what time it is!
I have a couple of watches, but I don't wear them as they both have bad batteries and one of them needs a special tool to get the back plate off to get to the battery. I don't feel like taking it to a jeweler to get the battery replaced! It was actually purchased from Foley's in the last year before they became Macy's. The other watch is a Timex from Kmart, lol. Given that Kmart has not been here since their 2002 bankruptcy, I guess that tells you how old it is. In reality, it's probably no more than five years older than the Foley's watch, but 20+ years is a long time for a Kmart watch!
ReplyDeleteGranted, like I said, I have not worn those watches in a while. I'm usually in front of my computer, office, car, or something else which has a clock on it. For the times when I'm not, the phone's clock will suffice. If I was on the go more often, I'd probably wear a watch though as I don't like fishing the phone out of my pocket. Besides that, a nice analog watch is a pretty classy thing! Obviously, I'm not talking about the Kmart watch here, lol.
Target doesn't sell watches anymore? Huh, who knew?
I'm happy my cheap watch just needs a small screwdriver to get to the battery -- I've already replaced it myself once! I don't bother wearing my watch around the house, but I'm out and about enough (almost always without a car) that having a watch is nice, especially since I'm really bad at keeping track of time!
DeleteIf Target still sells watches, I have no idea where they keep them! They've gotten rid of their jewelry departments, which is where they used to be. I suppose they probably sell smart watches in the tech department, but that doesn't really count for me!
