The arch is quite visible in this view down the stairs, which also shows one of the small porthole windows we saw from the outside (most of them aren't visible from the salesfloor). Apparently this area is home to Eataly's book section (which I didn't realize they had), which has a mixture of English and Italian books. For the most part, they seem to be books about food, not cookbooks (which I would have found more interesting, though it's difficult to use European cookbooks over here because of the different units).
Ha, just keep your Safeway metric conversion chart handy and you won't have any problems! I think this bag is actually from Safeway Australia, but I think the US Safeway had these bags, or something similar, in the 1970s as well. ReplyDeleteHa! Weight conversions are easy (my kitchen scale does US and metric units), but things like temperature and (especially) volume can get a bit messy. I've tried before and it certainly is possible (especially since European recipes tend to use weight more than volume), but it's a bit of a pain!
