Service from the lighthouse

This store has the odd newer style of checkout type signs, with a plainer font replacing the traditional Lifestyle one and a different shade of beige for the background. With the redesign, I'm surprised Safeway kept the part of the self checkout sign that specifies payment types -- these were common in the early days of self checkouts to specify that you can't use checks, but it's hard to imagine anyone trying to use a check at self checkout in this day and age (and I'm not sure if grocery stores even accept checks at regular checkouts any longer). It's nice to see that this store got decor-specific branding on the self checkout register lights, something that's rare to see (at any grocery store, not just Safeway) these days!
