Most of the back wall is taken up by the massive meat and seafood department this store has -- far larger than practically any other store I've been in. (Walmarts also have large meat sections, but generally not quite this big, I think... then again, I hardly ever shop at large Walmarts.) Apart from the garish color scheme, I quite like the large circular "Always" price signs (even if they're something else that reminds me of Walmart!). The ones in the background that look off center are that way because they're advertising something that's "always $3 lb", yes, without a slash before lb, and yes, pounds not kilograms (take that, everyone who talks about how dumb the US is for being the "only" country not to use the metric system! 😉).
Hey, it looks like that cart is freed by a Loonie! Even with the exchange rate, that's quite a large deposit compared to Aldi in the US!
ReplyDeleteWith all those Always references, I'm surprised there aren't smiley faces all over the store ala Wal-Mart!
They are, and I didn't have any Canadian coins on this trip, so that was a bit of a pain! I kept hoping I would be able to get an abandoned cart somewhere to give me a coin, but all the ones I tried to return didn't have coins in them, which I assume means Canadians have some sort of trick to get carts for free.
