Turning the corner to the left, things start to look a lot more normal -- in fact, pretty much the entire rest of the salesfloor is standard for a 90s QFC. The left side of the store (taking the checkout line as the front of the store) is home to a typical QFC grand aisle, with the large deli taking up most of the side wall and the produce section floating in the aisle space.
Speaking of the 1990s, I see someone wearing a Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls #45 jersey! Not only does that scream 1990s, but it screams 1995 specifically since that was the only year he wore that number. He wore #45 when returning to basketball after his brief retirement, but he switched back to his typical #23 after being embarrassed by the Orlando Magic in the 1995 Playoffs. The Houston Rockets won the championship that year....just saying...lol. I'm actually an LA Clippers fan (Go Clippers!), but I did like those Rockets teams that won the 1994 and 1995 championships. We won't talk about the Seattle Supersonics beating the Rockets in the 1993 and 1996 Playoffs, lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm pleased to see a drop ceiling return, albeit a pretty low one, after the questionable ceiling situation at the store entrance. That said, the very un-1990s like concrete floors remain! At least there aren't potholes and tile scar yet. Hooray for small victories!
What's the story with the cursive letter over by the sushi display?
I'm not sure what the story is with that. It appears to be the Reuben's Brews logo, but it's over by the bread and sushi, which doesn't make much sense!
