Heading back towards the checkouts in the middle of the store, you can see just how busy Eataly was, shortly before noon on a Saturday. There was a lot going on here -- an employee giving out samples of colomba and chocolate egg (which I didn't take because everyone was speaking Italian and I was feeling a bit overwhelmed with everything), another kiosk selling pastries/baked goods on the left, tons of easter displays that I was checking out in hopes they had something reasonably-priced (nope), and of course the very long lines for the checkouts mixing with people waiting for the elevators on the other side. If I wasn't feeling so motivated to make this set (and in need of one specific thing my mom wanted me to bring here), I may well have walked out right then and there. Honestly, since I skipped all of the major tourist sites and mostly avoided busy times at the airports I went through, Eataly may well have been the busiest place I visited on this trip.
