The exterior work was limited to just the new paint scheme, meaning the square that would have held Safeway's previous logo is still fully visible at the left end of the building. Across the street, that big new apartment building (with a Seattle Children's clinic on the first two floors) sprung up in the time between my two visits (though it wasn't completely finished at the time).
