Is it really a bonus if everything has the "bonus" item?

Unusually for a multi-level department store (at least in my limited experience), this store has men's clothes on the main floor in addition to women's. That even includes the men's socks and underwear section, something that's normally hidden out of the way to the point that I haven't even noticed it in most department stores I've visited!

Huh, around here at least, it was pretty common for men's clothing and underwear to be on the same floor as women's clothing (but not women's underwear) at our Sears stores. In most cases in Houston, the main floor at Sears stores was the ground floor since most of our malls are single-level. Children's clothing and women's underwear/intimates were usually on the much smaller second floor. At my local Montgomery Ward, women's clothing, men's clothing, and children's clothing were all on the first floor and the second floor was almost exclusively hardlines and things like the Montgomery Ward beauty salon. Some housewares were upstairs. At Sears, housewares were usually upstairs as well.

I'm not really sure if this is really impressive or not, lol, but I suppose it is kind of impressive that Sears had both Hanes and Fruit of the Loom in addition to the Sears branded underwear. They had a lot of options for the men's underwear seekers and they were proud to show it! Also, the bags of underwear and socks don't appear to be open with loose socks on the floor so this Sears is doing better than most Walmarts and Targets around here!

Sears used to sell (maybe they still do) Gold Toe's Silver Toe line of socks. I always thought that the presence of a Silver Toe brand was pretty funny, but I bought some of those and they are pretty good! Buying socks always seemed like a logical thing to do with you had too many Shop Your Way Rewards points, lol.

    1. I certainly haven't visited many multi-level Sears stores -- in fact, I think this is the only one! I was thinking of other chains with that comment, and I guess I shouldn't be too surprised that Sears would give men's clothing more prominent placement than other chains do.

I think part of what seems weird here is how the products on display are pretty much the exact same ones you could get at a store like Walmart or Target. They're probably the exact same ones Kmart sold at the time too!
