Stepping inside

The view from inside those doors doesn't look very Grocery Palace-y, though! While the initial remodel was done on the cheap, this article says that Safeway was looking to get rid of the old island pretty much right away after reopening the old Albertsons -- that part of the Grocery Palace layout has proven to be quite the unpopular choice! Strangely, part of the island was replaced with a new customer service kiosk, which I haven't seen in other remodeled Grocery Palace stores -- the parts of this store that were rearranged have a significantly different layout than I'm used to in ex-Grocery Palace stores.
