This store was built in 1999 as an Albertsons, and its current tenant shows why that Haggen we just looked at was allowed to remain a Haggen -- this was the very first store to be converted from Albertsons to Safeway following the merger in 2014, seemingly rushed through to allow the Safeway name to continue while they dumped the older and smaller store a block away. Of course, that doesn't answer why the Haggen wasn't closed outright after Albertsons bought it back, like they did in so many other places, but I guess that will just remain a mystery for now!
